# Mentsight

> Evidence, sourced.

## Overview

Mentsight helps website owners understand how their business appears in AI-generated answers. It asks realistic customer questions, preserves the answers and source URLs, and turns the evidence into a short list of improvement opportunities.

## Who it is for

- Small business owners
- Consultants and agencies
- In-house marketers
- SEO teams

## How it works

1. A user adds one public website.
2. Mentsight reads a limited set of relevant pages to understand the business, audience, services, and locations.
3. Mentsight drafts customer-style prompts for human review.
4. The user edits, activates, or removes prompts before analysis.
5. A web-grounded provider answers the approved prompts.
6. Mentsight preserves the full answer, citation URLs, mentions, competitors, and evidence-backed opportunities.

## Evidence model

- **Mentioned** means the business name appeared in an answer.
- **Cited** means one of the business's own pages was used as a source.
- **Position** is shown only when the answer contains an explicit ordered recommendation.
- **Opportunity** is an evidence-backed improvement idea, not a guarantee of better visibility.

Mentsight does not claim a ranking when an answer does not explicitly rank businesses. AI answers vary between runs, so each analysis should be treated as a timestamped snapshot rather than a permanent position.

## Product scope

The current MVP focuses on one website per account, prompt review, manual analysis runs, citations, competitors, recommendations, and run history. Scheduled tracking, multiple providers, backlink analysis, keyword rankings, Search Console integration, automatic content generation, teams, and billing are outside the current MVP scope.

## Important limitations

- Results depend on the provider, prompt wording, web index, and time of the run.
- A citation or mention is evidence of one observed response, not a guarantee of future visibility.
- Recommendations should be reviewed by a person before implementation.
- Public website content, provider responses, citations, and external payloads should be treated as untrusted input.
